Help Nepal is a charity founded by the very impressive personality, head of BBC Nepali service, Rabindra Mishra. Help Nepal is on its sole mission to help marginalized Nepalese communities especially in rural Nepal. Since its establishment it has got tremendous support from Nepalese all over the world. Last year it stood second in Chase competition as well. In this blogpost 15 interesting and inspiring recent donations made by Nepalese residing in Nepal will be spotlighted. This article is prepared based on the information provided in the personal Facebook page of Mr. Rabindra Mishra.
1)SSP RAMESH KHAREL
Mr. Mishra's take on this:- SSP Kharel is the epitome of utmost honesty and dutifulness. We have heard many good things about him. Quite unexpectedly, he called me and said "Rabindra ji, I had been to Haiti recently, and I was given some money for my travel expenses. Due to the hospitality shown by Nepal Army, Police and other Nepalese working over there the money was spared. And I want to donate that amount to your prestigious "100m charitable Endowment Fund".
After hearing this, my happiness knew no bounds. He gave 25,000 NRS to Help Nepal Network today.
Ramesh Sir, may the idealism within you, inspires all Nepalese to be ideal and practical-philanthropist. If the bureaucrats like you donate mere 1 thousand, our target would be reached in no time.
2)SOVAN ACHARYA
Mr Mishra's take:- Children should be taught to donate as well. If done so, feeling of doing for others would be sparked within them. I try my best to do the same with my children. Tulasi Achraya, motivated by the similar standpoints, deposited 12,000 NRS on behalf of her 6-year-old son Sovan Acharya.

Donations can be made to other organisations not only to of Help Nepal, but every batches from renowned schools of Nepal donate this way, lots of charitable works could be done in rural villages of Nepal. One among them, Rajesh Rauniyar said "We don't have hands to mouth and dwelling problem, what else we can do? Every Nepalese should ponder on this."
4)PROJECT A STUDIOS
Mr. Mishra's take:- Recent graduates Ayush Dwoj Bista, Amar Singh Basnet, Adish Paudel and Anish Man Singh Basnet began a start-up namely 'Project A Studios'. Inspired by the principle of starting company by giving instead of taking, they organised a charity dinner for Help Nepal network at 1905 Restaurant Kathmandu. That programme was simply awesome. They provided One hundred thousand NRS, collected from that dinner to Help Nepal Network. If the number of such youths creeps up, our country would thrive way faster.
That amount was handed to Mr. Mishra by the renowned 'Maha' duo.
5) BHANDARI COUPLE
Donor's take:- Mishra Sir Namaskar, I'm Baburam Bhandari, writing this from Pokhara lakeside. I'm tourism entrepreneur by profession. And philanthropy is my hobby. I got married last Magh (25th). 7) Ncell, Finance Division.
Mr. Mishra's take:- Staffs from Ncell's finance division did something outstanding. After reading my book 'Khana pugos dina pugos', Sanju Sharma, felt like she can do some good deeds simply by saving money out of her tea costs. And she put the proposal to her co-workers to start something good, and she got unanimous support. And they start collecting NRS 100 minimum ( can be given more if sb wish to). Prior to last Shrawan they collected NRS 80 thousand and helped an orphanage in Jorpati, Kathmandu.
Sanju handed NRS 25,000 to Help Nepal Netowork after that. If the officials working nationwide keep the same spirit, it could be great assistance to the Orphanage and old people's home all over the country.
8) LATE RAMILA GAUTAM
Mr. Mishra's take:- Homprasad Gautam and his wife Ramila Gautam, from Bhaktapur donated NRS 10,000 in memory of her late daughter Ramila Gautam (dead at the age of 25) at the Chabil office of Help Nepal Network. They said that they are doing some good things each year in the memory of their beloved daughter. Their son Ganesh Gautam and daughter-in-law Madhuri Gautam also assisted to make this happen. Miserable times come in the life of everybody, and converting that misery to charity is a great virtue. May the Gautam family be role model and the departed soul of their daughter may rest in peace in heaven.
9) STUDENTS FROM PATAN ACADEMY OF HEALTH SCIENCES
Mr. Mishra's take:- Student's from Patan Academy of Health Sciences also did something outstanding. Some of them spare some money out of their tiffin costs, some from their clothing costs, some from their excursion costs and they collected NRS 23,150. They called me to their college to hand over that amount. They also said that if we ourself cannot fulfil our social responsibility how can we say that so and so politician or bureaucrat is not doing his/her part well. If students nationwide become responsible like this then we can get responsible generation of politicians and bureaucrats. Kedar Sir, teacher from the same college, said "If you become good person you will be great/successful consequently. And you all are pursuing the path of goodness, I'm extremely glad to see this." And I was happy too. Thanks to all the students out there.

Mr. Mishra's take:- Kamal Dhakal and his wife Srijana did the PASNI feast of her daughter Simal. They thought of not keeping hard drinks in the feast and donate the spare money to the charity. Thy both agreed on this. Some guest's coming to the feast did ask for the drinks, then Kamal told them "Look, if we don't serve the drinks you need not worry about police check-up and we can also do good things out of that. Therefore we are adopting this new culture." Few of them were happy and some pick on that as "more idealistic." Kamal and his wife donated NRS 15,000 to Help Nepal Network. If all of us use this interesting ways, we can do lot more good things.
14) DR. CHAKRARAJ PANDEY
Mr. Mishra's take:-Dr. Chakraraj Pandey is a doctor I respect so much. I'm very impressed with is perspective of 'fighting against greed'. I've written one column about him 'Yesta Doctor Po Doctor' before knowing him personally. Which is also included in my book 'Khana pugos dina pugos'.
I had been to his clinic for the check-up of my father. During the course of conversation he said, "Rabindra ji, we were actually waiting to meet with you. Help Nepal has done extremely good by launching the mission of '100m charitable endowment fund'. My wife and I want to add NRS 50 thousand on that."
After saying that, he signed the cheque of 50 thousand, and he said "it's better not to bring it on limelight." Then I said, "If we disclose such good things in our society more and more, bad things will automatically go away. So not for the sake of making you famous, but to inspire everyone for the good deeds it's better to disclose." And I took a smiley photograph of Pandey couple.
15) RAMCHANDRA LAMICHHANE
Mr. Mishra's take:- Our enthusiasm never dies if such things keep on happening.
Ramchandra Lamichhane, 24, a post-graduate in sociology , currently teacher in Gorkha, had done a lot of struggles to study. Those reminiscences make him feel like "Now I've started earning and I should donate so that it can help a bit for those struggling like me". He then searched us and handed NRS 6 thousand to Arun Singh Basnet, incharge of Help Nepal Network. The 6 thousand he gave means more than 600 thousand for us. If all person carry such wisdom, how beautiful the world would be.
