Those who had a valid COE (Certificate of Eligibility) and had booked appointment at Japanese Embassy prior to 1st February, will now need to wait for an email from VFS Global which is in Thamel, Chhaya Devi Complex Building near Aloft Hotel. In order to get to VFS Global office as you enter the street near Amrit Science Campus, walk straight for few minutes, turn left after the street next to Aloft Hotel. Embassy of Japan, Kathmandu has sent Email to all who have booked appointment informing them of the changes. Japanese embassy has requested the applicants who now need to book appointment for visa purpose to contact VFS Global directly regarding enquiries about how to book visa appointments and other practical information.
The Email and Chat service of VFS Global Nepal's website for Japan was not functioning until a couple of days back. They might be currently working on it. If it works new applicants can book appointment directly from Phone or Chat or website too. Chat service is easier. If your visa decision has been made, you can also book appointment for passport collection through VFS Global chat service, or phone service or booking portal.
Those who have already booked appointment through email at Japanese Embassy, Kathmandu, will receive an email from VFS Global on when to visit for visa application. Now, applicants need to visit VFS Global directly, not the Embassy of Japan with the exception of few categories of visas such as visas for Diplomatic and official passport holders, cases which require visa immediately for humanitarian reasons and those who are contacted by the Embassy.
Japanese embassy website requests us to check VFS Global website from time to time. Once the above measures will be amended, we will be able to make bookings for our visas.*Booking of visa appointments from applicants
*Accepting visa applications from applicants
*Issuing visas to applicants
*Answering enquires for visa applications (via phone or email)
